End-of-month dates differ from the calendar

The last day of a month and the listed pay day often differ. Some listed dates fall on the first day of the next month, and some fall earlier in the month. Use the listed date in the table above, not the calendar date. The table below shows each month where the two differ.

About the LES date

The LES column is the date the statement is listed as available, before the pay day. For the full pay record, use the LES on your account or your servicing finance office. This site does not show individual pay records.

In this table the LES date falls 5 to 10 days before the pay day, and the gap changes by month. Use the date listed for each month rather than counting back a fixed number of days.

Planning around pay day

  • Plan around the listed pay day for the month, which is the date DFAS publishes.
  • For pay questions about your own account, use myPay or your servicing finance office. This page does not show individual pay.
  • For drill pay, which is paid on a separate schedule, use the drill pay calculator to estimate the amount, then check the reserve pay dates DFAS publishes.

Frequently asked questions

When is my 2026 military payday?

Use the pay day listed for your month in the calendar above. Dates are not always the 1st or 15th: when the 15th is a weekend day, DFAS lists the Friday before. Use the listed date, not the calendar date.

Is the LES date the same as my deposit date?

No. The LES column is the date the Leave and Earnings Statement is listed as available, which comes before the pay day. Your deposit date depends on the pay day and your bank.

Does this calendar cover Reserve drill pay?

No. This page covers active-duty pay days. DFAS publishes a separate 2026 Reserve pay days calendar for reserve drill pay.

Why did my bank deposit arrive on a different day from the pay day?

Banks set their own availability rules, so a deposit can post earlier or later than the DFAS pay day. Check your bank's posting rules; this site cannot see your account.
